Solidification of Pure Metals and Alloys - Structural Supercooling - Dendritic Structure - Segregation - Floating Zone Purification
Casting of ingots, continuous casting, defects of ingots after casting
Casting: foundry alloys and castability, conventional molding techniques
Practical work (TD or TP)
Reminders on phase diagrams
Case studies (solidification, macro and microstructures of castings, defects encountered, heterogeneities of composition)
Acquired skills
Castability of metal alloys, solidification technology
