Co-ordinator : David Blond
Prerequisite
Propriétés mécaniques et physiques des matériaux (1MAC1)
Course Objectives
know the main ways of manufacturing and machining metal alloys depending on the alloys used and economic criteria.
Syllabus
- Introduction on metals (metallurgy and heat treatments)
- Metals production (iron and steel industry)
- Metal Fabrication Processes (Shaping, Foundry, Welding, Sintering, Additive Manufacturing)
- Machining of metals (cutting tools, grinding, electro erosion, water jet cutting and laser etc ...)
Practical work (TD or TP)
Tutorial classes: adequacy between the mechanical properties (shaping by plastic deformation, the microstructure and the heat treatments) of metal alloys with the nanufacturing or machining process.
Acquired skills
Acquire a general knowledge on the main manufacturing and machining processes of metal alloys encountered in the industrial activities.
