1MAB2 Physics Materials and Mechanics - Apprenticeship S5
Lessons : 12 h TD : 12 h TP : 0 h Project : 0 h Total : 24 h
Co-ordinator : Xavier Portier
Prerequisite
All the physical concepts encountered in the two first years after the Bachelor degree.
Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to review the fundamental concepts in classical mechanics and to modelize physical phenomena during different movements of a solid such that inertia forces and resonant phenomena for critical oscillation frequencies.
Syllabus
- Dimensional équations
- Concepts of error and uncertainty ; calculations of uncertainties
- Fundamental laws in mechanics
- Fundamental principal of dynamics in a non galilean referential - forces of inertia
- Harmonic and non harmonic oscillators
- Analogies in electricity
- The use of complex impedances
Practical work (TD or TP)
The course is illustrated by various examples of mechanical movements.
Acquired skills
After this course, the students should be able to modelize any movement of an object considering inertia forces and resonant phenomena in the case of oscillatory movements.
