Course Objectives
The objectives differ according to the starting level (going further with the basics, working on the four skills):
- objective : to get a level n+1 according to the initial level in the first year
- consolidate the skills for the internship in a German-speaking country at the end of the second year
- develop an intercultural sensitivity in a French-German context
Syllabus
This program is adaptable to the needs and demands of the students. The course of the class is determined after the students have chosen from different propositions. The four skills will be developed with a focus on productive activities.
Group A1/A2: training for everyday communication, actual subjects
Group A2/B1: preparation for an internship in a German-speaking country, CV and covering letter, mock interviews, training for everyday communication
Group B1/B2: mock interviews, raising awareness of intercultural parameters, study of a film, presentations, debates, lecture, creative writing project
For all the groups in S2: Meeting of cultures: preparation of their stay abroad
Practical work (TD or TP)
Oral presentations – organisation of a debate – organisation of a negotiation.
Organisation of a meeting: “Engagez-vous, partagez”
News, documentaries, audio documents, short stories, role plays. Interactivity and communication, used in different forms (individual, in small or bigger groups, all together) play a decisive role in the German classes.

Acquired skills
A2: Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. B1: Can understand the main points of clear standard input, can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. B2: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity and produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects.
