Course Objectives | |
Initiation to the numerical analysis software MATLAB.
Syllabus | |
2h of academic lecture to initiate to the MATLAB programmation language and to get familiar with the functions of calculation and graphes generation. + 12h of practicals (4 x 3h): - a first practical of initiation to the software, to put into practice the functions seen during the 2-hours lecture : use of basic mathematical functions (square root, logarithm,...), creation and manipulation of vectors and matrix, generation of 2D and 3D graphes and the different visualisation options. - one practical to study the thermodynamic equilibrium of a chemical reaction. - 2 practical on the solving of differential equations by the finite differences analysis method. |

Practical work (TD or TP)
MATLAB is a widely used software in the fields of education, research and industry for numerical computation.
Acquired skills | |
MATLAB is performant environment of scientific programmation and graphes generation . MATLAB allows to visualise functions and data, manipulate matrix, and implement algorithms. MATLAB could also be used for the solving of linear algebraic équations, and also for image treatment.
