General information on materials: active and passive components. Crystalline state. Structural principles of inorganic materials: representation models – Compact and ultra-compact packing. Crystalline state Study methods: X-ray, neutron and electron diffraction. Basic Structures of inorganic materials. Concept of a solid solution. The real crystal: point defects, dislocation and grain joints. Influence of defects on the physical properties of solids. |
