Course Objectives | |
This course allows the acquisition of general knowledge on so-called ceramic technology. Approaches of the different stages of elaboration according to the objective of the ceramic product.
Syllabus | |
Definitions of ceramics, different classes of ceramics Stages of elaboration from the shaping: -Mixing-grinding, Study of the stacking of particles, dry shaping (pressing). Study of suspensions (zeta potential, rheology) casting, extrusion, injection. Drying and debinding. -Sintering (theoretical aspects, solid phase sintering, liquid phase, microwave sintering, SPS sintering, densification improvement techniques). |
|
Practical work (TD or TP)
Zeta Potential and Slurries Stability: Relationship with shaping Densification study (effect of grain size, sintering technique, sintering atmosphere and sintering additives) |
|
Acquired skills | |
Notions on the various techniques allowing the shaping and the sintering of the ceramic powders according to their application (form and properties)
