Course Objectives
This course is divided in two sections and présents some technologies able to produce electricity via various processes of energy conversion. The last innovations in this field are also presented.
Syllabus
Photovoltaic:
- Photovoltaic effect
- Physics of a pn jonction exposed to a light source
- Some structures of inorganic solar cells
- Organic cells (polymers and Graetzel cells)
Production via a thermal process: Phermoelectricity
Production via a chemical process: Batteries
Practical work (TD or TP)
Some exemples and some exercices are proposed all along this course.
Acquired skills
After this course, the students will be able to consider several ways for producing electricity depending on the need and the objectives of these production means.
