3EAC3 Matérials Electronics and Applied Physics S9
Lessons : 9 h TD : 0 h TP : 0 h Project : 0 h Total : 9 h
Co-ordinator : Xavier Portier
Prerequisite
Non renseigné
Course Objectives
To review the main materials used in the nuclear field (power plants, reactors, waste conservation) and to present the main risks on structural materials used in power plants.
Syllabus
- Introduction to different classes of materials
- Materials used in the nuclear field
- Main risks related to structural materials: Thermal risks, Irradiation damage, Corrosion
- Controls of materials: Structural, Chemical and Mechanical characterizations
- New promising materials
Practical work (TD or TP)
Non renseigné
Acquired skills
Students will be made aware of the issue of materials exposed to the constraints present in nuclear reactors. They will be able to understand and anticipate control procedures at the critical points of a nuclear reactor.
