Course Objectives
The objective is to allow students to have an inventory of energy consumption and resources at the global and French levels. Presenting the energy challenge of the 21st century and the solutions for a carbon-free energy transition.
Syllabus
Energy resources and consumption
Solutions towards a carbon-free transition (renewable energy, storage, nuclear, efficiency ...)
Presentation of the different hydraulic sectors.
Principle and deployment of solar energy solutions: thermal, thermodynamic and photovoltaic.
Global theory of wind turbines and applications
Practical work (TD or TP)

Acquire a critical mind to evaluate the different sources of information available on energy production and consumption.
Have an overview of the energy needs and transition solutions to a carbon-free energy.
Understand the operating principles of the main carbon-free energy sources.
