Prerequisite
- All 1st and 2nd years skills in speciality Electronic and Applied Physic, as well as SATE skills
Course Objectives
- Apply during real context and in autonomy his/her knowledge and skills in embedded systems, networks, control and computer science
- Understand the importance of team work (humans relationship, personnalities, capacities, skills, sensibilities, valorization, attentiveness, solidarity, etc)
- Understand the importance of conceptuals representations in opposite of technologies
- Read and analyse technicals specifications
- Enjoy working time and team project !
Syllabus
The RACE project (Remote Automtive Challenge of ENSICAEN) :
- Serious game (Project Supervisor / client / teachers, and Project Owner / service provider / students)
- The Project Supervisor is in charge of requirement and write technical specifications (~40 pages)
- The Project Owner is in charge of design, development, test, validation and technical documentation of solution. 4 students per team
- Engineers technical projects managers (architect) and developpers, each person can freely choose his role and technical skills !
Practical work (TD or TP)
Design, development, test, validation and documentation of embedded software solutions to pilot a remoted car with retro-gaming gamepad :
- SMP-ROV (Surface Mobile Platform) : HW/SW real time embedded solution for vehicle movement
- HMI-ROV (Human Machine Interface) : SW C++ user interface for vehicle supervision and control

Hardware and software tools (per team) :
- 1 x remoted car (without electronic)
- 1 x ENSICAEN RACE Mother Board (interface and power board)
- 3 x Microchip PIC32MZ EF Starter kits
- 2 x Microchip WIFI extension modules
- FreeRTOS RTOS
- Microchip MPLABX IDE and XC32 toolchain
- QT Creator and C/C++ GNULinux environnement
Acquired skills
