Course Objectives
The objectives differ according to the starting level (basiscs, grammatical and lexical revision, going further). The students develop the four basic skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

A0/A1 : introduction to everyday language
A1/A2 : Be able to use simple phrases to communicate in everyday life situations
B1 : deal with situations in everyday language - presentation (free choice of the subject). Preparing the students for an internship in a German-speaking country.

Enhance the four basic skills for all levels
A0/A1 : introduce yourself, nombers, time, date, prices etc., basic expressions of politeness, everyday life situations (daily routine, food and drink, leisure activities, housing conditions, shopping, travelling, education etc.).
A1/A2 : introduce yourself, speak about yourself and your surroundings, describe simple situations, speak about your preferences – training for everyday life situations – writing messages or simple mails.
A2/B1/B1 training for everyday life situations – CV and application letter – the German-speaking countries : culture and tradition – history – actual subjects : politics – society – economy – sciences – creative writing (act on a text or a short film)
For all levels : S2 project : business forum

Practical work (TD or TP)
Oral presentations, role play, sketches, listen and understand vidéos, (short) films, news, documentaries, audio documents. Interactivity and communication, used in different forms (individual, in small or bigger groups, all together) play a decisive role in the German classes.

Common European Frameword of Reference: A1 Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type - Can interact in a simple way. A2 Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. B1 Can understand the main points of clear standard input, can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
The diverse activities allow every student to improve his language skills in comparison with his initial level. The objective is to advance at least one level during the studies at Ensicaen.
