Optique cohérente

2E1AE2 Optique cohérente Electronics and Applied Physics S7
Lessons : 18 h TD : 9 h TP : 0 h Project : 0 h Total : 27 h
Co-ordinator : Herve Gilles
Prerequisite
Concepts on wave optics (two-wave interference, temporal coherence)
Course Objectives
Thanks to its properties so different from those of the light that surrounds us, the coherent light was first implanted in the research, the techniques then the everyday life. The objective of this course is to give the student engineer sufficient bases to tackle a large part of the topics covered by modern optics and in particular Laser (2nd year) and Optical Sensors (3rd year).
Syllabus
Two waves interferometry. - Multiple wave interference. Diffraction and Fourier Optics. - Formalism of scalar optics: diffraction. Notions of spatial frequency. Fourier optics. - Information processing in coherent lighting. Coherent filtering. - Holography and its applications.
Practical work (TD or TP)
9 hours of tutorials will allow the deepening of concrete devices. Practical sessions will focus on the following topics: Interferometry Fourier transform spectroscopy. Study of an optical monochromator. Application to spectroscopy
Acquired skills
Opportunity to address the major modern applications of optics: optical links, optical engineering and metrology.
